WHAT IS REHAB RESOURCES?

Rehab Resources provides a range of therapy services in Central New York. Settings include Acute Care, Long Term Care/Short Term Rehab, Outpatient Clinics, School Systems, Developmentally Disabled Adults, and Pediatrics including Early Intervention & Preschool. We employ Physical Therapists (PT), Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA), Occupational Therapists (OT), Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA), Speech Therapists (ST) and Speech Language Pathologists (SLP).

WHAT IS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST?

Physical Therapists provide services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. They work closely with patients to restore, maintain and promote overall health and fitness. All accredited PT schools offer degrees at the master's degree level and above.

WHAT IS AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST?

Occupational Therapists help people improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. They work with individuals who have conditions that are physically, mentally, developmentally or emotionally diabling. A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy is the minimum education requirement.

WHAT IS A SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST?

Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders; audiologists identify, assess, and manage auditory, balance, and other neural systems.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CHANGE WORK SETTINGS AFTER I'M HIRED?

After being hired for one setting, employees can choose to move to a different setting or location without changing jobs. Some therapists prefer to work in one setting and location for several years, while others prefer to work in different settings and locations. Rehab Resources will work to accommodate each therapist’s preferences.
